Dr. Britta Janney

Dr Janney’s love of animals started at a young age. She grew up riding horses and caring for neighbors’ pets.

Dr. Janney attended the University of Richmond for her undergraduate degree and received a Bachelors of Science in 2001. During her college years, she worked with local equine veterinarians, exercised horses and rode on the university riding team.

After college, Dr. Janney spent two years gaining hours and experience needed to get into vet school and continued to work with and ride horses locally. She attended North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003 and graduated in 2007 with a DVM track of mixed animal medicine with an equine focus.

After vet school, Dr. Janney, worked for a mixed animal practice south of Richmond doing primarily equine ambulatory medicine and small animal work. In 2012 she trained in animal chiropractic at Parker University in Dallas, Texas and became a Certified Veterinary Chiropractor with the AVCA. In 2013, she was certified in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine acupuncture at the Chi Institute in Reddick, Florida.

Also in 2013, Dr. Janney started her own practice, Balanced Veterinary Wellness. Since then she has enjoyed focusing on chiropractic work, acupuncture, laser therapy and Chinese herbal medicine on dogs, cats and horses.

In her free time she enjoys hanging out with her family, going to see live music, riding her horse and playing tennis.

Christina Williamson

Christina has been with Balanced Veterinary Wellness since February of 2018. She moved to Virginia with her husband, Stew, and son, Sam in 2014. A New England native, Christina has spent time working with captive wolves at a wildlife education center, and later worked as a dog trainer for a Vermont animal shelter and for her own business. At BVW, Christina applies her knowledge of animals to perform laser therapy treatments and hold dogs for chiropractic & acupuncture treatments.

When not at work, Christina spends time training and showing her Doberman, Pi, in competition obedience and agility. She and Pi volunteer with Alliance of Therapy Dogs in the Goochland Public Schools, and as a member of Caring Canines. Christina hopes George, her young Rhodesian Ridgeback, will be able to walk in the paws of his brothers as a future therapy dog. Christina loves to cook, read, and run.
